2008 CENTRAL NY SAILING ASSOCIATION REGATTA, July 11-13
The Central NY Sailing Association Regatta (aka "Centrals) will be held " at SBYC; --from Friday, July 11th to Sunday, July 13th, featuring two days of Lightning, Ideal 18, Opti, Laser, Laser Radial, and JY 15 class course racing on Lake Ontario and  Great Sodus Bay. Friday pre-registration will run from 1830 to 2100, with registration continuins from 0700 to 1000 on Saturday morning; after which Skipper's Meetings begin at 1030. First race warning signal 1145 on Saturday, and 1030 Sunday. Further information can be found at the CNYSA website including Notice of Race, and Registration Forms. Sailing Instructions HERE.

SBYC YOUTH SAILING SPRING SESSION COMPLETED

The SBYC Youth Sailing Club teaches 7th to 12th grade students sailing and sailboat racing on SBYC's fleet of Ideal 18 sloops. This year's spring sesson 7 students from Sodus and North Rose-Wolcott schools participated: Evie Myerly, Ali Saiff, Simone Depew, Sara-Laurel DeFeo, Bill Stevens, John Skinner and Chrissy Wahl.  SBYC thanks members Bill Stuart and Howard Skinner who presided over the class as coaches.

2008 SBYC Spring Youth Sailing
The club will be held again this fall, and meets on Tuesdays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. For more information, contact Tom Knapp at 315-483-4864.



SBYC CHOSEN FOR '09 LIGHTNING CLASS NORTH AMERICAN REGATTA
The International Lightning Class Association has honored Sodus Bay Yacht Club by selecting SBYC as the site for NEXT year's (2009) Lightning Women's Junior's, Master's North American Championship, and Lightning North American Championship Regatta, to take place Tuesday, August 4th, through Friday August 14th. Past Commodores Ed St. George, Tommy Knapp, and Alys Klingenberg have already formed a committee and begun meetings and preparations for this world-class event, which is expected to draw some of the continent's strongest sailing competitors.
