Great Sodus Bay is a beautiful vacation spot and some competitors will want to make a weeks vacation of this event. Vacation rentals are available throughout the bay. Bed and breakfast accommodations and room rentals are also available.  You and your crew can stay on your boat rafted in our deep harbor or stay in a tent on our lawn.

A few sites that can help you plan your stay are:

Village of Sodus Point - Visitors Page - Places To Stay

For Rent By Owner - USA - NY - Finger Lakes - Sodus Bay

Great Sodus Bay - Four Season Get Away - Lodging

South Shore RV Park

The Village of Sodus has given us access to parking within a short walk to the club for overflow parking needs.  Boat trailers will be at an off site location throughout the regatta, but again within a short drive or walk. Plenty of fun can be found within walking distance of the club.

Where To Stay

The week begins with the Founders Cup from Oswego Yacht Club to SBYC. The race is on Sunday, July 26th, following the Sail Oswego Regatta. This feeder race from the east side of Lake Ontario will have a warning signal at 1030 hours.

Founders Cup will be followed by the Centennial Cup from Genesee Yacht Club to SBYC. The race is on Tuesday, July 28th, a few days after the closing ceremonies of the CanAm Regatta at Youngstown Yacht Club . This feeder race from the west side of the lake is designed so boats have time to sail from Youngstown and compete assuring them a chance at the overall champion trophy. This race begins with a warning signal at 1030 hours.

Mid-week the Freeman Cup long and short course races will be held on Wednesday, July 29th. These are in the LYRA tradition of overnight races. The long course will have a warning signal at 1700 hours and the short course warning will be at 1800 hours.

Thursday evening, July 30th, opening ceremonies will be held followed the next day by the beginning of three days of course racing on July 31st, August 1st and August 2nd. We anticipate the first warning signals to be at 1100 hours.
